I am a practicing U.S. attorney and Article 51 and its Caroline Doctrine are all good and well; however, I prefer defending Israel (albeit as a non-Jew) with the law of common sense.

Common sense dictates that if Cuba (and its friend in Venezuela) were shooting missiles and preparing to become nuclear, the full force of the U.S. military forces would not only preemptively respond, but would eradicate its capabilities. I am pretty sure the United States would give two figs (I guess apples is more appropriate, but I prefer figs) about so called International Law.

Am Israel Chai and are doing what they need to do for the security of the entire world. All the international community has to do is say “thank you.”

Roger THAT. May the Lord bless you and keep you.

Thank you. I feel that both have value. And since Israel actually does follow international law (in addition to common sense and Western values), I think people ought to know that. People should know about all of it! There are others doing a great job on the common sense side, so I try to contribute something unique. Hope people find it to be a helpful part of the full picture.

I am sure it is helpful and I wasn’t criticizing it. I am critical that you even need to declare what should be obvious to people who have common sense. But we need people such as you with the patience to declare what actually is to counteract all the voices out there that seem to have a monopoly on convincing people of what is not. Keep writing!!

The posts on the legality of Israel's actions are helpful in combating folk who claim otherwise. As seen in the insufferable Piers Morgan's recent "interview" with British jurist Natasha Hausdorff, there are folk who pretend to question the legality of Israel's actions but will not allow rational voices to respond, and will cut them off so the lies of the Israel haters won't be exposed.

We gather verbal ammunition here on Sub-stack and take it to the battlefield that is X and Facebook and Instagram where occasionally an open mind is encountered, one amenable to facts and not already blinded by hatred.

No hostility intended but as a maxim that's as vague, nonspecific, vapid and undoable as a thing could be, specifically the phrase stay safe👀

How to proceed upon receiving such advice or disregard as when asked how are you today? 🤔

ShalomAloha!

"Stay safe" may not have much practical use (ie "stay safe" how?) but in a world where more than enough people are telling Israelis to "go die" I find I appreciate the spirit behind it. Just the feeling of supportiveness really makes a difference in these stressful times.

Agreed

Go forth and vanquish and be victorious along with war shofars, this is truly epic and the phraseology has to upgrade
